This area represents being recognized (fame) for your work and getting credit (reputation) for the work you do or are doing. It’s the far back middle area of the exhibit and it is also the Heart of Wastetopia. With an honest intention, whether it be for work, school, a relationship, or with your family, this is the area, enveloped in Red, is meant to enhance your life - giving the full recognition you deserve and want.
MATERIAL HIGHLIGHTS
Chandelier From Annie Hall. This beautiful chandelier that was on its way to the dump had to be upcycled, and given a new life for the light show. It’s become a title piece.
Various Race Medals and Swag from events represent the finish line and achievements in life.
Aquanaut: They were put out in front of a vintage clothing store on Hawthorne that was closing. Anyone could’ve picked it up for scrap or decoration. The aquanaut stands tall in the light show and for us represents inclusion, fame and recognition.
Mirrored Cabinet: Left outside of a dumpster near 30th Alberta. The mirror reflects every person's fame.
Piano Keys and Guitar: Both were on their way to the dump, but they were destined to be art. Both definitely provided years of musical creativity before becoming pieces in the Portland Festival of Lights.
